Argo director and Star, Ben Affleck has finally been revealed to be stepping under the cowl of Bruce Wayne as Batman in the upcoming Man of Steel sequel as yet known as Superman / Batman. Hollywood Reporter quoted Zack Snyder as saying in a statement ;

“Ben provides an interesting counter-balance to Henry’s Superman. He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne, I can’t wait to work with him.”

This would seemingly answer recent rumors that the search was focusing on older actors, With Affleck (41) replacing Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne.

Interestingly enough this follows a past of Affleck being attached to Batman projects having earlier this year being linked to Justice League as a director and previous to that he was set to star in the aborted Batman and Robin follow up “Batman: Year One”.

The movie hits theatres July 17th 2015.
