As the ‘Death of a King’ arc reaches its penultimate chapter, this issue effectively serves as a deep breath before plunging headlong into what should be an epic finale. The story alternates between flashbacks and the present day, providing us with the chilling origin of the dead king and casting some major doubts over Arthur’s assumed right to sit on the throne of Atlantis.

Talon #12
Talon has been fairly up-and-down in recent months, but the prospect of a brand new arc starting in this issue was enough to fill me with optimism. Sadly however, a few niggling points stopped the new storyline from really getting going, for me at least.

DC Universe versus The Masters Of The Universe #2 (Of 6)
As much as it may have excited this particular fanboy, it was always going to be a bit of a tough sell to intertwine two completely separate worlds into a series like this. However, in the first instalment of this six-issue story, I found myself pleasantly surprised by just how unforced it all felt.
