20131119-213732.jpgEntertainment Weekly have provided us with us the Arrow news we’ve all (possibly) been waiting for. Bye bye mascara, hello domino mask!

On the subject of the mask, the show’s executive producer Adam Kreisberg said “Conceptually, it was something we wanted to do because Oliver himself is evolving as the Arrow– from vigilante to hero, sort of from Arrow to Green Arrow — and we wanted to see that progression in his costume as well. As Oliver is embracing being a hero, being a hero means stepping out of the dark and being more of a symbol, so he has to stake steps to conceal his identity more? It’s going to allow the Arrow to interact with people who don’t know his identity in a much more organic way than having him constantly keep his head down.”

He also clarified that the mask wasn’t just going to ‘appear’, adding “He doesn’t just put on a mask. It’s actually a big plot point in an episode, and there really is a story behind, not only the need for the mask but also who provides him with it. It’s going to be a little bit of a surprise, and once they see how the mask comes into creation, I think people will be really excited about it.”

Looks pretty decent, actually. The mask is set to make its debut on the December 11th episode.

  1. I too was a fan of the way it is now with the mascara instead of a mask. But I agree with lukebbtt, if there is a good plot line as to why the change then I’m all for it. I’ve been happy with the series thus far!

  2. I quite liked how Arrow is now. It was original. But if there is a good story behind it, I will accept the change.
