Its official: ‘Preacher’ TV series in development
We reported back in November that there were rumblings of a possible ‘Preacher’ TV adaptation on the horizon. Well, it’s just been confirmed, with the series now in active development at US network AMC.
Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are on board to executive produce and will also script the pilot episode, with ‘Breaking Bad’ writer Sam Caitlin as showrunner on the series. That’s some pretty big names in the hat, right there.
Written by Garth Ennis and drawn by Steve Dillon, ‘Preacher’ follows the journey of Jesse Custer, a preacher who loses faith after being possessed by a demon called Genesis, and sets out on a road trip to attempt to find the literal incarnation of God, who has abandoned Heaven. The series was published by Vertigo comics and ran for 75 issues.
