Sin City: A Dame to Kill For brings back directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Millar. Jessica Alba reprises her role as Nancy Callahan, and Mickey Rourke returns as Marv. Joseph Gordon-Levitt joins the cast as Johnny, a hard-luck gambler who beats the wrong guy at poker. And finally we get our first look at them courtesy of EW (Entertainment Weekly).
The official plot synopsis: “Weaving together two of Miller’s Classic stories with new tales, the town’s most hard boiled citizens cross paths with some of its more notorious inhabitants.”
The movie is slated for release Aug 22, 2014, and is the follow up to the 2005 film. The cast also includes Powers Boothe, Josh Brolin, Rosario Dawson, Eva Green, Dennis Haysbert, Stacy Keach, Jaime King, Ray Liotta, Jeremy Piven and Bruce Willis (phew!).
The graphic novel of the same name follows Dwight as he his hunted down by the only woman he ever loved, Ava Lord, and then watches his life go straight to hell. Chronologically, this story takes place prior to “The Big Fat Kill” (featured in the film Frank Miller’s Sin City) and explains how Dwight came to have a dramatically different face.
It’s surprising we haven’t heard too many details about this film considering its release date is fast approaching, hopefully it will be worth the wait. We’ll continue to provide updates as more information is provided, but until then are you excited to return to Old Town?
