Scottish Comic Book Guy: Remember that time Scott Snyder totally dissed horses?
You don’t need to have a great memory to recall this, since it only happened last year in the pages of Batman, but it still makes me chuckle.
Batman #16, was a fantastic issue, which saw Bats making his way through Arkham Asylum looking for The Joker. All of a sudden, A HORSE IS ON FIRE!!!
Readers probably thought “Phew, that was a bit mental eh? Poor horsey!”. But writer Scott Snyder was just getting started. a couple of pages later, Batman gets in a bit of a scrap, during which he PUNCHES A HORSE RIGHT IN ITS FACE!!!

Why the long face?
Luckily, the horse is ok, and Batman climbs on its back to continue his journey through the asylum, but suddenly, MR. FREEZE FREEZES THE HORSE TO DEATH!!!

That’s not Batman, Victor. That’s a horse, mate.
Then Mr.Freeze SMASHES THE FROZEN HORSE TO SMITHEREENS!!!

Stop attacking the horse, Victor! Batman is right there look!
Snyder didn’t really recieve any criticism for his apparent hatred of all things equine. In fact, most people found the whole thing pretty entertaining. One reader even going so far as to post this Amazon review:
So, yeah. Horses.
