SUMMARY: Mike Stone wants nothing more than to marry the woman of his dreams, Denise. However, what Denise doesn’t know is that Mike is one of the world’s top assassins and was once engaged to a fellow assassin named Chloe. Mike abandoned Chloe on their wedding day and she vowed revenge. This is her revenge.

The final part of this 4-issue weekly series finally arrives, wrapping up the book I have been most complimentary about since joining BigComicPage.com. It has been a true emotional rollercoaster, seeping with bullets and undiluted love between characters. My favourite Image title of 2014 by a significant margin.

It’s unfortunate that at this stage I cannot encourage you to “get on board” with this series, as by now you have missed the boat; but I will advise you to head on down to your local comicbook store and pick up the previous issues, as this one is most definitely worth a read.

This concluding issue finally gives us the truth behind our main hero Mike abandoning the (now) bat-crazy Chloe at the altar; a move that appears so out of character it really did need some further explanation. This flashback is followed by the climatic conclusion to Shotgun Wedding which wraps up the title in a very simple, yet utterly satisfying, manner.

Throughout the course of this 4-part story my only real “gripe” has been the black and white colour choice, due to its real lack of stylistic advantage on this title. I reached out to creator William Harms regarding this and he cleared it up for me;

“We tried some different colour schemes and in the end we didn’t like any of them. So we just decided to keep it [black and white] instead of forcing colour into it and not being happy with the final outcome”

Works for me.

Rating: x/5.
