Craig Collins allows artists to showcase their weird side with ‘Exiles of Metrodome’ sketchjam

Blog HeaderLast year, Scottish comic book creators Craig Collins and Iain Laurie released Metrodome, a bizarrely unconventional supervillian showdown comic featuring characters randomly created by slotting words together from a single edition of The Metro, everyone’s “favourite” free UK daily newspaper.

The results were disgustingly outrageous, with Laurie’s distinctive artistic style bring to life such memorable characters as “Sparkling Tumour” and “Explosive Ghost”.

But what of the villains who didn’t make it into the free-for-all?  What other deranged daily newspaper creations are out there, lurking, waiting for their moment to reveal themselves?  Well, wonder no longer, as Collins has put together a follow-up project – entitled Exiles of Metrodomewhich takes the form of an online sketchjam featuring a series of talented comic artists providing their own unique take on some of the Metrodome’s forgotten denizens.

The jam will run for the rest of this week, being updated daily, and – based on the results we’ve seen so far – is definitely worth a look.

And in case you need more persuasion to check out this unusual and truly unique project, here’s a couple of characters for you – “Dance Abuse” by Warwick Johnson Cadwell, and “Iron Romance” by the one and only Neil Slorance.
