Kevin Feige previously confirmed that yes, Thanos would be making an appearance in this August’s Guardians of the Galaxy movie, and yes, an actual actor (as opposed to CGI) had been cast to play the role. But what he didn’t say was just who would be stepping into the role of the Mad Titan.
Well speculate no longer, as Variety have confirmed that the man for the role is none other than Josh Brolin!
Feige was cagey about just how much of a role Thanos would play in the Guardians movie, but he did confirm that it would be more than the smirking post-credit cameo he made in the Avengers. Also, the Mad Titan is expected to play a pivotal role as the (predicted) “big bad” in the third Avengers movie. And for a character with such deep-rooted angst, pathos and rage, I have to say I’m thrilled they went with an actor with such an impressive range as Brolin. Perfect casting in my mind.
But that’s just one (mildly Thanos-obsessed) man’s opinion, so let me know what you guys think? Does Brolin as Thanos work for you?
