Release Date: 4th June 2014

I’m sure there is something in this title which will entertain someone out there. Unfortunately, I’m sad to say that I couldn’t find anything for me.

Let’s start with the blunt: very little happens in this issue; without the blurb to introduce you to the story – you wouldn’t have a clue. This issue is 90% dialogue, a monologue. A one man discussion with a WILSON-esque (Castaway reference) mannequin which has been named The Captain.

I also found the art to be hit or miss. Violently hit or miss. Some panels are simply stunning, especially the two page, six panel exploratory monster depiction. Showing that in this fictional world, nothing is often what it seems; like an iceberg, it’s what’s under the water that counts. However, contrary to this I found some of the art felt amateurish and often rushed. Especially pages 1 and 22.

I will end as I started; I’m sure there is something here for someone. This may well be you’re new favourite comic. Unfortunately I will not be following this title as it continues to unfold. Creator Ted McKeever has always been divisive, I guess I know where I sit now!

Rating: 2/5.
