Marvel and Netflix, today, announced that Vincent D’Onofrio will play The Kingpin of Crime, in the new Netflix Original Series “Daredevil”. D’Onofrio who is known for his roles in Men In Black, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and Full Metal Jacket, will play the larger than life Crimelord, facing off the previously announced Charlie Cox as DD.

While D’Onofrio may not face the bulk to portray the larger that life Fisk as he is represented in the main marvel universe, the slightly more realistic version of the character from Jason Aaron and Steve Dillon’s Punisher Max series may be more apt for a television adaptation. He’s certainly shown he has the acting chops for the role anyway!

Fisk is described on Marvel.com as “a powerful businessman whose interests in the future of Hell’s Kitchen will bring him into conflict with the blind attorney Matt Murdock and his alter ego Daredevil.” So who knows if it’s going to be revealed straight away that he is a crime lord, r if it will be dragged out as a big reveal further down the line that he is the mastermind.

Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Head of Television) had this to add: “We’re incredibly proud to have an actor with the gravitas and versatility of Vincent joining ‘Marvel’s Daredevil’ in such an integral role. Wilson Fisk is an iconic villain whose cunning and power make him the dangerous equal of our hero.”

The 13 episode series will debut on Netflix in 2015
