Marvel’s September solicits reveal no less than fifteen titles priced at $4.99!

Death-of-wolverine-comic-1-previewRegular comic readers might want to consider taking a second job, as Marvel look to be stepping up their pricing with no less than FIFTEEN books solicited for September retailing for $4.99 each.

As reported on Comic Book Resources, the following titles will ship at the higher $4.99 price point;

Death of Wolverine #1-4
Superior Spider-Man #33
New Avengers #24
Avengers #35
Avengers #34.1
Fantastic Four Annual #1
Thor: God of Thunder #25
Miracleman #10
Hulk Annual #1
Deadpool Bi-Annual #1
Hawkeye vs. Deadpool #0
Deadpool #34

Now, the sharp-eyed among you will notice that some of these are annuals or specials, but this is always how new pricing is introduced, right?. Can it be long before we’re paying the guts of 5 dollars for our regular fix?

Will you still be buying floppies at this price? Switching to trades or digital? Or just dropping titles altogether?

  1. Maybe include that all of these are double-sized issues, either 40 or 48 pages.

  2. Oh, well… It looks like I’m going to have to sell both my kidneys on the internet. Any takes?

  3. Wow. Two of my titles are included in that list. Thor #25 and Deadpool #34. And I want Deadpool Bi-Annual #1. I will not be buying floppies if the price increases to $4.99. I’ll do trades if I can find them at discounted prices. I’ll go entirely digital if the price is lower than the floppy. And if I take out a second job, it won’t be to satisfy my regular comic fix, the money will go towards the increase in the price of groceries. So I guess I will just have to drop titles.
