I already covered the SDCC exclusive Lego ’66 Batmobile in another post, and since SDCC came and went, I decided to check out the ebay prices on the set. You’re looking at upwards of £150 if you really need to have it!
I can’t pay that, so I set about building my own. It was pretty clear from the promo photo what parts were needed for the outside of the vehicle, so off I went through my Lego stash to see what I already had, and to throw it all together in Lego Digital Designer software (LDD). The rest I sourced from Bricklink. Here’s the original promo pic of the set:

And here’s what I came up with:
A couple of parts and colour variations, but hey, it’ll do for me! All in, this whole thing cost about £12 to build, purely because I didn’t already have the parts I needed in black and red. The minifigures from the SDCC model are not exclusive (They also appear in the Lego Juniors ‘Defend The Batcave’ playset), but I don’t have them at the moment. Perhaps at some point I’ll pick them up, but for now, Bats is riding solo.
To the Batmobile!
