Issue 14 opens in the middle of the Sons taking down a rival biker gang known as The Slaughter. The Sons take down their meth lab and then go after the heart of the gang. This action is solely comic book territory – The Slaughter do not appear in the TV show and Opie is still alive and kicking ass in this timeline. Got to say, this issue is a little disappointing. After being impressed with the collected Volume 1, I expected more but this story is ho-humdrum and the action is poorly paced. Rival gang, meth lab…post-Breaking Bad, doesn’t everyone have a meth lab? Yawn. And there’s too many ‘cute’ bits. Tig likes dogs. Yep, we know that, don’t need to see it twice.

I’m left thinking, what does this add to the SOA world? Nothing much unfortunately.

Rating: 2/5 – and only because I am such a SOA fan-girl.
