The Witcher is back for another adventure. Geralt and Addario find themselves at a Windley Port where a sloop (that’s a ship for you landlubbers) is waiting to set sail. The crew find out that Geralt is a witcher and ask him to join them on a mission – one which they will only tell him about when they set sail.

And for good reason, Geralt tells them to give up and turn back. A vulpess has kidnapped an elf girl and in true changeling fashion turns her to a fox child. The crew intend to rescue the elf girl. Geralt points out the myriad reasons why they should. Short story – it’s both dangerous and pointless. But they may have already put themselves in great danger and need Witcher Geralt to help them. This rescue mission is more crew and less elf girl.

It’s an enjoyable read that moves at a good pace and the art is solid too with some truly gorgeous panels with superb attention to detail. If it sounds as if I am damning with faint praise, I’m not. My words just can’t beat the last line. “Now? Now we’re fucked.” You’ll want to find out why.

Rating: 4/5.
