Marvel Studios and Netfilx, today released that none other than The Walking Dead’s Jon Bernthal will be playing Frank “The Punisher” Castle in the next season of Daredevil.
Along with the announcement, Marvel showed off the new bullet ridden logo for the series.
While it may not be the actor fans were hoping for (Tom Hardy, anyone) this is a bold move for the studios as Bernthal already has a role under his belt as a hero with questionable morals in the form of Shane, Rik Grimes partner from The Walking dead. While Marvel haven’t confirmed that Castle will be friend of foe for Daredevil, it’s safe to say there’s going to be shots fired if the new logo is anything to go by!
“Jon Bernthal brings an unmatched intensity to every role he takes on, with a potent blend of power, motivation and vulnerability that will connect with audiences,” Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television, said with a chat on Marvel.com “Castle’s appearance will bring dramatic changes to the world of Matt Murdock and nothing will be the same.”
