After last month’s absolute joy of a crate we are back to business as usual here with the September “Summon” offering.

First things first, I know the crate was out a while ago but I was away on holiday so only got it the other day.  However, I thought I would still review it.

So, this month’s crate included;

– Diecast Replica of Supernatural Chevy Impala

– Homer Simpson Golden Buddha

– Pikachu Laplander hat

– Hearthstone Stress Ball

– Hearthstone Collecable Coin and Card Pack

– Summoner AR app

Overall, while the contents of the crate weren’t necessarily bad, they were a bit… meh. As far as I can see, the money this month got spent on the AR app, and while it’s not terrible, it is essentially a lackluster Tamagotchi with some AR elements. They should have made it more like a Pokemon battle app instead of a ‘tap and go’ virtual pet.

I’ve never played Hearthstone so the majority of this crate was lost on me, but I can imagine that for fans of the series this would have been a good one. Same goes for the Supernatural diecast car. I have a couple of people I know who may like it, but it certainly won’t be joining my collection. What I would have really liked in this crate would have been a Pokeball replica, or something similar. That would have been brilliant.

The Buddha Homer Simpson seems like a last minute addition to the crate due to spare money and feels fairly out of place.

The quality of the loot was reasonable but sadly just not up my street. I will say one thing for this crate, it helped me pick my Halloween costume this year. Pika, Pika?

Overall score: 3/5

Next crate theme is “Time” (think Doctor Who, Back to the Future and Bill and Ted) and apparently includes a POP! Funko and a t-shirt so fingers crossed.
