Final X-MEN: APOCALYPSE Trailer Reveals Surprise Character!
The final trailer for the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse film was released today, showing us never before seen footage, as well as a surprise appearance from a well-known character.
Apocalypse, also known also by his real name En Sabah Nu, was the world’s first and most powerful mutant. He is immortal and worshiped as a God by many, but after years of hibernation, Apocalypse awakes to fine the world has vastly changed. Unimpressed with what he sees, he sets out on a mission to cleanse mankind and rebuild the world in his vision, with help from his recruits known as the four horsemen. Apocalypse has always had his four horsemen throughout the comic story lines, but in the film we know them to be Storm, Psylocke, Archangel and disheartened Magneto.
Mystique and Xavier must battle to save Earth from destruction with a young team of X-Men, with a little help from Wolverine. We don’t know how big a role Wolverine will have in the film, but his famous claws make an appearance in the trailer.
The trailer reveals story lines not seen in previous footage, including further shots of Oscar Isaac’s portrayal of Apocalypse, Quicksilver confirming that Magneto is his father, and Mystique meeting Nightcrawler for the first time. We also see Mystique having to lead and train the X-Men after Xavier is kidnapped by Apocalypse.
The film sees the return of many of the franchise’s stars, including seeing the transformation of James McAvoy from the young Charles Xavier from the previous films, to the more well-known bald looking Professor X. Michael Fassbender returns as a young Magneto, alongside Jennifer Lawrence as Raven Darkholme, more commonly known by her mutant name Mystique, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Rose Byrne as Moyra McTagert, and Evan Peters as the comical Quicksilver. As well as the returning favourites, a new, fresh team of young X-Men star in the film, such as Game of Thrones Sophie Turner as a young Jean Grey.
The film is being directed by Bryan Singer, and will be release May 18th in the UK and May 27th world-wide.
