To make it nice and easy for all you TF fans out there, Laurence has pulled together all of the latest news regarding ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’, which will be the next installment in the hugely successful franchise, and the last to feature the polarising figure of Michael Bay as director.
The recent trend in Hollywood seems to be some sort of gimmick to promote an upcoming film. Ghostbusters (2016) released a teaser to announce an official trailer was on the way, and Michael Bay hopes the latest trend will be publicizing production updates.
Two weeks ago, the @transformersmovie Instagram account posted a teaser showing Optimus Prime with purple eyes and red war paint as well as the official title “Transformers: The Last Knight.” Then a viral video containing a message in Morse code appeared on the @transformers Twitter account, which spelled out “E I’m coming for you May 31.” Bay announced on Instagram that Megatron would return and production begins on June 2016.
The latest update on “The Last Knight” comes from Bay’s website confirming Bubblebee’s presence in the film. The image features the latest design of Chevrolet’s Camero with the caption “Bee is Back.”
With this reportedly Bay’s last time directing a Transformer movie, which might explain the assault of social media updates. Production starts June 5, 2016, so expect a slew of updates to “rollout” relatively soon.
Anthony Hopkins and Jerrod Carmichael are the latest actors to join the cast, which includes Mark Wahlberg reprising his role as Cade Yeager, Josh Duhamel – after being absent from the last film – returns as Lt. Col. William Lennox and Isabela Moner as Izabella. Of course no Transformer movie would be complete without the voice talents of Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime.
Transformers: The Last Knight hits theaters June 23, 2017.
In addition to Optimus, Megatron and Bumblebee, which Transformers do you hope to see in “The Last Knight?”
