Autobots and Decepticons alike get excited! The 30th Anniversary Edition of Transformers the movie is coming!
Thirty years ago, Optimus Prime died in battle, Megatron was reborn as Galvatron and fans of the G1 series were introduced to the colossal, planet-eating Transformer Unicron. We are of course talking about “Transformers – The Movie.”
In honor of the 30th anniversary, Shout! Factory and Hasbro Studios formed a multi-year agreement allowing Shout! Factory the distribution rights.
For the first time, “Transformers – The Movie” will be available on Blu-ray in North America. The footage has been newly remastered and transferred in HD from the original 35mm. It also boasts a full-range of bonus content and collectible packaging.
“We are thrilled to work with Shout! Factory to deliver the original movie to fans in a completely remaster HD experience,” said Stephen Davis, Chief Content Officer and Executive Vice President of Hasbro.
“Transformers – The Movie” was co-produced and directed by Nelson Shin; produced by Joel Bacal and Tom Griffin; supervising producer, Jay Bacal; executive producers, Margaret Loesch and Lee Gunther; music score by Vince DiCola. It also has an all-star cast including the legendary Orson Welles in his final role as well as Peter Cullen, Eric Idle, Casey Kasem, Judd Nelson, Leonard Nimoy, Robert Stack and Frank Welker.
The 30th Anniversary Edition of “Transformers – The Movie” will be available on Blu-ray and DVD on September 13, 2016.
