All-Star artists expand Jeff Lemire’s BLACK HAMMER universe in upcoming Giant-Sized Annual

bkhmr6niwrk-195849While it’s only three issues old, Jeff Lemire’s superhero comic series Black Hammer has already cemented its place as one of the most impressive new titles of 2016, and the rich mythology of the series is set for an expansion in early 2017 with a Giant-Sized Annual.

The oversized anthology issue features an all-star artistic team working alongside Lemire, as Dustin Nguyen (The Authority, Batman: Streets of Gotham), Emi Lenox (Plutona, EmiTown), Nate Powell (March, Any Empire), Matt Kindt (MIND MGMT, Dept. H), Ray Fawkes (One Soul, The People Inside), and Dave Stewart (Fight Club 2, Black Hammer) get set to bring Abraham Slam, Golden Gail, Colonel Weird, Barbalien, and Madame Dragonfly to life.

We’re already huge fans of the Black Hammer ongoing series – featuring artwork from the supremely talented Dean Ormston – here at the Big Comic Page, with our own Andrew McGlinn boldly proclaiming in his review of issue #3 that “this was potentially one of the best things Jeff has written to date and it is, but it could so easily by THE best thing he’s written.”

The forty-page Black Hammer Giant-Sized Annual will be available on January 18, 2017, but if you want to find out more about the series you can check out our interview with Jeff Lemire by CLICKING HERE.  Or, y’know, go out and pick up the first three issues for yourself.  You can thank us later.
