Planet Jimbot’s SAVANT to appear in Dark Horse Presents later this year

img_1059Planet Jimbot’s critically acclaimed sci-fi story Savant is set to be serialised in the multi-Eisner Award winning Dark Horse Presents later this year.

The series, from writer Jim Alexander (Metal Hurlant Chronicles), artist Will Pickering (Burke and Hare) and colourist Fin Cramb (Mono) will appear in DHP #32-37, from March to August, and will feature the 24 pages from the original 24-page Planet Jimbot release along with 24 all-new pages to complete the story.

We reviewed Savant waaay back in September of 2013 (CLICK TO READ), calling it “a comic that deserves to be read by as wide an audience as possible”, and “a stunningly illustrated, brilliantly conceived tale that jumps out of the pages and pretty much forces you to care about it”, so to say we’re excited about this news would be a major understatement.

The series introduces us to Lode from the planet Savant, who, having gone walkabout around the universe, chooses to chronicle the lives of the dying. As a result seeks out war zones. She is not a harbinger of death; but it is death nevertheless that draws her like a moth to a flame.   Her travels bring her to Hubris, a planet ripped apart by war. There, she is recruited by local government forces to help hunt down a war criminal. It is a journey that will take her to the mouth of madness. The End of Days itself.

Great news for a hard working Scottish small press publisher then, and yet another reason – if it were needed – to pick up the already awesome Dark Horse Presents later this year.
