LUKE CAGE goes solo in new ongoing series this May
This May, writer David F. Walker (Power Man and Iron Fist, Occupy Avengers) and artist Nelson Blake II (Romulus) will collaborate on LUKE CAGE #1, the first chapter of a brand new solo series starring Harlem’s Hero for Hire.
The story sees Cage returning to New Orleans to attend the funeral of his mentor and father figure Dr. Noah Burstein, the man who made him into the unbreakable hero he is today. However, when he starts digging for answers surrounding Burstein’s death, he finds himself drawn into a world of Mysterious billionaires, super-powered gangs and more than a few shadowy figures.
Speaking in an interview with Marvel.com about the series, Walker said “I just wanted to pull him out of his element for this story. Taking a character out of an environment where they are sure of themselves, and then putting them in a place of physical and psychological uncertainty often makes for good drama.”
LUKE CAGE #1 goes on sale in print and digital this May.
