Deadpool gets ready to kill the Marvel Universe (again) this July

This July, the Merc With a Mouth is set to make his mark on the Marvel Universe in a violent, bloody fashion one more time DEADPOOL KILLS THE MARVEL UNIVERSE AGAIN, a brand new five-part series from writer Cullen Bunn and artist Dalibor Talajic

The official blurb says:

“Remember the time Deadpool went a little TOO crazy and killed the entire Marvel Universe? Well, this isn’t that. This is a DIFFERENT time Deadpool went a little too crazy and killed the entire Marvel Universe. So strap in, because the Merc With a Mouth is taking out all of your favorites in the most horrific ways possible. Heroes. Villains. It doesn’t matter to Deadpool one bit! But trust us, it’s going to hurt him more than it hurts you…and you’re going to love it!”

Speaking about the announcement in an interview with Marvel.com, Bunn said “Writing DEADPOOL KILLS THE MARVEL UNIVERSE was such a blast for me, so of course I wanted to return to that well at some point. I wouldn’t have pursued it though, unless I thought we have a new kind of story to tell and some interesting and unexpected angles to explore. The tale that we’re presenting here definitely gives us something new and exciting, so it’s time to pull the trigger!”

We reviewed the first volume last year, giving it a fair-to-middling two and a half star rating, and saying that “Deadpool fans will likely get a real kick out of seeing their main man effortlessly dispatching heroes like the Avengers, the X-Men, Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four in increasingly gory and inventive ways, and at the end of the day, isn’t that all you can really ask from a title like this?”, so we’re keeping our fingers crossed that this second volume can fix some of the flaws of the first while still delivering the same over-the-top insanity that fans have come to expect.

Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe (Again) #1 and #2 both go on sale this July.
