Geeking Out Giveaway – Token it to the Limit

Tokens are the scatter cushions of gaming: attractive, functional, sitting on top of things…

Anyway, we like them, and they make things just look better. However, rather than simply being aesthetically pleasing, a really good set of tokens supports and indeed enhances your gaming experience.

We also like promoting small, local companies here at Geeking Out, which is why today we’re looking at what the fine folk from Buy The Same Token produce.

It can be bewildering to know which supplier to use to help support your acrylic habit, and there are definitely a lot of other great sellers out there. But Buy The Same Token have managed to carve out a little niche for themselves because they go for functionality, aesthetics AND saving you time, with all of their tokens coming pre-painted and coloured:

What does that mean in practical terms? Well, they’re slightly more expensive than some other sellers, but it’s a good trade-off for the quality you get. Take their set for Star Wars Destiny – £15 for all the tokens you need for the game, ready to go as soon as that envelope drops through your door. Easy as that (oh, you can win a set for yourself here as well – more on that at the end!)

Likewise their range for X-Wing Miniatures isn’t just practical, it’s pretty. The reminder tokens are functional but just look damn nice, too:

Their bomb tokens in particular feel really substantial, with no chance of skittering across the tabletop, but my absolute favourite, easily, is the giant stress token:

As a fan of multi-stress lists, this just made me smile, and was top of my wishlist.

I’m also a massive fan of the sets of 12 Acrylic id tokens, invaluable if you’re running a tie swarm or just to help keep track (especially with the kids):
