First Trailer Released For Season Nine of THE WALKING DEAD [SDCC18]
Andrew Lincoln has confirmed the upcoming season of The Walking Dead will be his last but don’t shed any tears just yet because this five-minute trailer promises to send Rick Grimes off with a bang.
The Comic-Con trailer shows Rick talking with an imprison Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) about how the various communities such as Oceanside, Alexandria, Sanctuary and Toledo have started to rebuild, develop and even adapt to a world inhabited by flesh-eating walkers.
Despite all the progress, Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Darryl (Norman Reedus) still find themselves at odds with Rick’s ideology. The internal conflict was introduced last season when Maggie, Darryl and Jesus (Tom Payne) would wait for their opportunity to “show” Rick and Michonne how much of a mistake it was to spare Negan. The trailer suggests the camps and core cast of characters are on the verge of civil war.
With Lincoln’s departure from the show and the news that Reedus will lead the series, it’ll be interesting to see if the show explicitly states whether Rick was on the “wrong” side.
The Walking Dead season nine starts Oct. 7, 2018 on AMC.
