The Suitcase has been reopened and a New Dark Lord emerges!
The camera pans slowly to a sight we’ve known since childhood, either pictured in our heads from words on a page or by a cast of amazing actors across a series of films. But something’s different here, who’s this bearded John Watson look alike? And this young scruffy haired Hufflepuff?
It’s none other than Albus Dumbledore and Newt Scamander, played to perfection by Jude Law and the returning bookish nerd Eddie Redmayne. No Potter, No Snape but a new Dark lord, Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) narrating over the proceedings as a dark shroud blankets over the world of muggles and wizards alike, but with the beacon of humorous light in our humble beast wrangler Newt shining through.
The sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them (2016) brings a host of new beasts, new characters and enough hidden gems to make Potter fans Stupefied.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald hits theatres November 16th.
