AfterShock Announce Dark Ark one-shot “Instinct” for Free Comic Book Day 2020

AfterShock Comics have announced the release of a brand new one-shot from the critically-acclaimed world of Dark Ark, set for release next May as part of New Comic Book Day.

The 32-page Dark Ark: Instinct will be written by main series co-creator Cullen Bunn and illustrated by Jesus Hervas. We all know the story of Noah’s Ark, right? Well, Dark Ark is the story of the other ark. Y’know, the one full of vampires and ghouls and manticore and the like. And on a ship filled with monsters, every decision—those driven by reason and those driven by instinct—can be the difference between life and death.

Speaking about the new release, Bunn said “This is a standalone DARK ARK story, something readers who have never read the series can pick up and enjoy. It’s set in the early days of the DARK ARK’S voyage, and I think it gives readers a great idea about the types of stories they can expect from the main book.”

Mike Marts, AfterShock’s Editor-in-Chief, added “DARK ARK: INSTINCT is our gift to the fans who’ve made DARK ARK and DARK ARK: AFTER THE FLOOD two of our most popular and talked-about titles over the past few years. Fans of the series and new readers alike are in for a treat with this free, special edition, single issue from AfterShock and one of the most sought-after storytellers in the industry.”
