Jeff Lemire’s Sweet Tooth gets Netflix Series Order
It has been confirmed that Jeff Lemire’s Vertigo Comics series SWEET TOOTH is set to get the a Netflix treatment, having been picked up for a new eight-part series.
Christian Convery (Beautiful Boy), Nonso Anozie (Game of Thrones), Adeel Akhtar (The Big Sick) and Will Forte (The Last Man on Earth) will star, with James Brolin (Life in Pieces) set to serve as the show’s narrator.
Jim Mickle (Hap and Leonard) and Beth Schwartz (Arrow) are set to pen the script, executive produce and serve as co-showrunners. Additionally, the husband and wife team of Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey will also serve as producers
Netflix describes the show, based on the 40-issue comic series which ran from 2009 to 2013, as “the broad appeal, family-friendly, storybook adventure of Gus — part deer, part boy — who leaves his home in the forest to find the outside world ravaged by a cataclysmic event. He joins a ragtag family of humans and animal-children hybrids like himself in search of answers about this new world and the mystery behind his hybrid origins.”
No details of a release date have been announced just yet.
