A brand new arc begins as all hope is lost in Once & Future #19 [PREVIEW]

BOOM! Studios have dropped the first look at ONCE & FUTURE #19, which kicks off a new story arc in the critically acclaimed series from NY Times bestselling writer Kieron Gillen, Russ Manning Award-winning artist Dan Mora, colorist Tamra Bonvillain, and letterer Ed Dukeshire.

We’re been big fans of the series – which follows retired monster hunter Bridgette McGuire, her unsuspecting grandson Duncan, and their intrepid ally Rose as they protect their nation from legends and myths risen from the grave – since it first launched back in August 2019, so it’s great to see more and more arcs being added to the story, which was originally only planned as a six-parter.

Here’s the brief synopsis:

With all of Britain dragged into the Otherworld, every living soul is in peril under Arthur’s supreme triumph. Bridgette, Duncan and Rose wonder… can anyone survive? But there is an expected complication. Arthur’s victory is incomplete, as a most unexpected foe rises up against him…

The third volume of the critically acclaimed series went on sale last week, collecting issues 13-18, so there’s still plenty of time to get up to speed before issue #19 is released on August 25th 2021.  In the meantime though, feast your eyes on some preview artwork from the upcoming issue, including the variant cover from Christian Ward.
