Hasbro Figure Review – Power Rangers Retro Style 7-Inch Zords

Hasbro has recently revealed their newest Power Rangers sub-line, a series of 7-inch figures that pay homage to the classic 90s TV show.

I’m not really sure how I feel about these, but let’s take a closer look, shall we?

Power Rangers Mighty Morphin Dino Megazord 7-Inch Figure (PRE-ORDER)

VERDICT: These are odd. They have relatively low detail, but I appreciate what they’re trying to do. This is the best one in the line, but only because it’s the most iconic. The limited and articulation does make me feel these aren’t worth the retail price (£18.99!) I mean, it does have its sword, but it can’t be held dynamically. What next, are Hasbro are going to be selling a shoebox and glove for the “prop recreation” line?

Power Rangers Mighty Morphin Thunder Megazord 7-Inch Figure (PRE-ORDER)

VERDICT: This is okay, although I’m not familiar with this particularly Zord. It’s cool, but the hands are positioned really weirdly, meaning that they only look good with the sword in a specific pose, which feels relatively disappointing.

Power Rangers Lost Galaxy Galaxy Megazord 7-Inch Figure (PRE-ORDER)

VERDICT: Another okay release. The sculpting and painting is decent, but the articulation is the worst of the bunch. The sword fails to look really cool, and the robotic bird somehow ends up being the best bit.

Power Rangers Ninja Storm Ninjakon 7-Inch Figure (PRE-ORDER)

VERDICT: I feel this is what the rest of this line should have been. Very similar to the rest of the retro figures, incorporating the head swap gimmick. A bit of leg articulation could’ve really kicked up (ha) the posing, and some colour breakup would’ve been nice. Overall though, not too shabby
