With the Mattel toy line proving to be something of an unexpected hit with kids and adults alike, Dark Horse Comics have just confirmed details of their upcoming Masters of the Universe/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles of Grayskull crossover comic book series, set for release this September.

Not only that, but the MOTU dream team of Tim Seeley and Freddie E. Williams II, who have previously worked together on DC’s He-Man/Thundercats and He-Man/Injustice crossovers will be bringing this exciting new series to the printed page.

Here’s the official synopsis:

When the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles came across Krang and Shredder making a deal with some otherworldly ‘demon-mage’ named Skeletor, things got hella-weird and they ended up in ETERNIA! It turns out, when you mix Utrom mutagen with demon magic you get a nasty purple poison—and it’s brought Eternia to the brink of chaos. So, Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo are teaming up with the Masters of the Universe to kick some blue boney butt. The only problem is…He-Man is missing in action.

“As inevitable as a meet up between He-Man and the Turtles has felt, it took some time getting done! And now that it’s here, I have a huge pile of newly purchased figures, and a bunch of pages for what is one of the most awesome comics I’ve ever gotten to work on,” said Seeley. “To say Freddie and I approached this Dark Horse series with some screaming-our-heads-off-style enthusiasm is underselling it a bit. I can’t wait until you get to read this.”

“He-Man and the Ninja Turtles? Tim & I have been discussing potential plots and ideas for a few years, and he still surprised me with an even cooler (unique) way to connect these world, and reconnect and connect again… in this bending world hopping, time skipping approach,” added Williams. “This crossover has a long lineage- many of us fans have been bashing He-Man and the Ninja Turtles together since we were kids! And I’m honored and thrilled to draw it! I’m lucky to be working with Tim and Andrew (Dalhouse, series colorist). Can’t wait for everyone to check it out!”

Colored by Andrew Dalhouse and lettered by AndWorld Design, with a cover by Williams II and Dalhouse and two variant covers; one with art by Stan Sakai with Emi Fujii and one by Alexis Ziritt, Masters of the Universe/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles of Grayskull # 1 (of 4) hits comic shops on the 25th of September 2024.
