Dark Horse Comics have just announced details of Masters of the Universe: Andra, an oversized one-shot comic highlighting Lieutenant Andra, on sale this July.

Not only that, but the story will be written by Tiffany Smith, the voice of Andra from the hit animated series, Masters of the Universe: Revelation, and illustrated by Eisner Award-winning artist Adriana Melo.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Adapting to her new role as Man-at-Arms, Andra finds herself struggling with training new cadets. They must be ready to fight against any and all threats—magical or otherwise—but if Andra can’t believe in herself, how can she expect others to follow her lead? When a call for assistance on Orkas Island turns out to be a magical threat from the evil Count Marzo, Andra will have to delve into her past, use her technical know-how, and find her own power if she hopes to save Eternia.

“Growing up, I was obsessed with cartoons and comics,” said Smith. “I actually took a grade school class photo holding a She-Ra action figure. So, getting to voice an amazing character like Andra for the animated show and have my very own action figure was mind-blowing enough. But, then to have the opportunity to write and create a standalone story with her at the center with such incredible comic talent like Adriana Melo and all the amazing folks at Dark Horse Comics and Mattel has been an absolute dream come true. I cannot wait for everyone to see the adventure we created.”

“Masters of the Universe has a rich heritage that is rooted in storytelling, and we’re thrilled to build upon that legacy with Dark Horse Comics and this new Andra one-shot,” added Ryan Ferguson, Global Head of Publishing at Mattel. “Fans will have the opportunity to dive deeper into Andra’s journey and personal growth. We hope it captures the epic adventure and rich characters that have defined Masters of the Universe for generations.”

Featuring colours by Giuliano Peratelli and lettering by AndWorld Design, The Masters of the Universe: Andra one-shot will be available in comic shops on July 23, 2025.
