This week I present to you I believe are the top 5 performances by an actor in the role of a comic book character where the casting is as perfect as can be. They in every way inhabit the role of the character they are supposed to be.
Take a look and see if you agree.
5. Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker
Performed in the role miles and miles better especially after the wooden performance they had in the other 3 Sam Raimi directed films by Tobey Maguire, he carried the wit but also the brains of Parker.
4. Robert Downey Jnr. as Tony Stark
I ask you could anyone else have played Tony Stark better than him?
The role and the actor are now indistinguishable and as I have said in the past this now brings in to question how will the franchise move on once RDJ has hanged up the metal.
3. Patrick Stewart as Prof. Charles Xavier
It’s almost like when Kirby drew and wrote him way back in the 60’s that he knew one day Jean-Luc would be around to play him.
2. Jack Nicholson as Jack Nic… errr The Joker
I don’t think that I need to really say anything here but will just say “have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight”?
1. Tom Hiddleston as Loki Odinson
For a relative unknown he blew every single persons socks off and San Diego Comic Cons appearance in character proved that, he seemingly embodies Loki himself, and he genuinely loves being that guy.
