I wrote that on my social media accounts on December 28, 2013. But I have been thinking about this since I read Geoff John’s New 52 Justice League: Origins and saw Man of Steel, hence my list article over at WhatCulture 12 Reasons why Justice League should follow Man of Steel.
And now, Warner Bros. producer Daniel Alter – who informed the world that Gal Gadot would be Wonder Woman before she was officially cast – has added further fuel to the fire by tweeting the following on January 8, 2014.
‘DC Universe Animated Original Movies’ is a bit of a mouthful, but they have been putting out some of the best animated films featuring the league such as Justice League: Doom, Flashpoint Paradox, and Justice League: War coming out on February 4, 2014.
Perhaps Warner Bros. has finally figured out how to bring the league into a live action setting, and I must admit if the tweet proves to be true this might be the best kept secret in Hollywood.
We might finally see DC vs. Marvel – at least in terms of ticket sales – since The Avengers: Age of Ultron is also slated for a summer 2015 release. The original Avengers movie came out two years ago, so I would be curious to hear how long this plan has been in development.
All in all, we end up with a lot more questions than we do answers, but the movie – whatever its title might be – starts shooting in February. So we should start seeing some concrete details soon. This just further proves that 2015 will be an epic year at the movies.
So, do you think that this tweet is even true? Can DC pull off a Justice League movie without establishing its members via solo films? Who do you think will win the battle at the box office in 2015 DC or Marvel?
