Amy Acker to star as Coulson’s Cellist Girlfriend in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
‘Agent Coulson’s cellist girlfriend’ was mentioned early on in the Avengers movie, but very little was known about her. Now, it looks like the mystery lady is set to get some character expansion, as Whedon alum Amy Acker is set to take on the role of ‘Audrey’ in at least one upcoming episode of ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’.
According to TV Guide, “a talented musician turning heads in Portland, Audrey believes Coulson to be dead and has no idea that he’s guarding her from a distance as a super-powered threat from her past re-emerges.”
Acker has appeared in various TV projects, and is well known for her roles in Joss Whedon projects like Angel and Dollhouse, where she worked with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. showrunners Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancheroen.
She also appeared in Whedon’s recent adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing, which starred Clark Gregg (Agent Coulson) as, er, her father…
