Dark Horse Comics
Writer: Paul Tobin
Artist: Juan Ferreyra
Release Date: 24th December, 2014

After the shock factor that has been the first two issues of the series, this time round it’s all about the story. We finally get a few answers as to just who Declan is and just why Swivel is looking for him, and I have to say, it’s not what I expected!

Tobin shows just how much of a master craftsmen he is here. With his world building off the charts once again, we find ourselves delving into Declan’s alleged past and get a glimpse at just who he might have been. Swivel is also given more depth to him, making the character even more the stuff of nightmares. With little touches, like the chicken in the mouth, it all seems to flow effortlessly – something that makes the story seem all the more horrifying.

Where to even begin with Ferrerya’s artwork? It’s widely known how much of a fan we are of his work here in BCP Towers, but every month I still find myself blown away with how stunningly brutal his art is. There’s a certain simplicity to his line work that matches the effortlessness of Tobin’s writing perfectly, bringing everything together into one gruesome, brutal package. It was also nice to see him get to draw [spoilers] again, even if only for a few panels.

Buy it.  Just buy it. You can thank us later.
