Hot on the heels of the announcement that Iwan Rheon (Game of Thrones) will be playing his brother Maximus the Mad, Marvel have confirmed who will be playing the King of the Inhumans Black Bolt in their upcoming live-action TV show.
It has been confirmed by Entertainment Weekly that Anson Mount (Hell on Wheels) will be playing the role of Blackagar Boltagon in the show, set to debut in IMAX theaters and on ABC this September.
Speaking about the announcement, Jeph Loeb, Head of Marvel Television, said “Anson loves the challenge of playing a character who will only communicate silently. His enthusiasm mixed with his imposing almost regal persona made it easy to see why he is our Black Bolt.”
Inhumans showrunner Scott Buck added “Black Bolt is a character whose deep complexity must be conveyed without uttering a single word. I’m very excited to have Anson on board to bring him to life.”
The first two episodes of Inhumans will debut in IMAX theaters across 74 countries early this September, and will be shot entirely with IMAX cameras. Shortly thereafter, on the 26th of September, the first of eight weekly episodes will debut on ABC.
