The First Trailer for AQUAMAN is Finally Here [SDCC18]
One of the most anticipated things in the lead-up to this weekend’s Comic Con International in San Diego was the first trailer for Warner Bros’ upcoming Aquaman solo movie, which finally dropped today.
While the Justice League movie may have received some mixed reviews (6.6 on IMDB, a 40% fresh rating on RT with a 74% audience score, and around $658 million worldwide, if those kind of metrics appeal to you), one thing everyone seemed to agree on (right?) was how awesome Jason Momoa’s portrayal of Aquaman was.
This made the upcoming solo movie an intriguing prospect, even for viewers who had been soured by the somewhat erratic performance of DC’s cinematic universe to this point. Thankfully, the initial photographs released – along with the hugely positive (albeit cryptic) Twitter responses to the private press screening of the trailer – had a lot of fans licking their lips in anticipation.
So feast your eyes on the trailer in all its glory below, and let us know what you think in the comments.
Directed by James Wan and starring Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Orm/Ocean Master, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as David Kane/Black Manta, Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko and Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus, Aquaman is scheduled to hit cinemas this December.
