First Look at Hasbro’s War for Cybertron ‘Battle Across Time’ Grimlock and Mirage Double Pack

Recently Hasbro revealed their newest lineup, the ‘Battle Across Time Collection’ which features two-pack figures containing a Maximal/Predacon and an Autobot/Decepticon.

It’s definitely an interesting idea, but let’s take a look at the execution, shall we?

Transformers Generations War for Cybertron: Kingdom Battle Across Time Collection Deluxe WFC-K40 Autobot Mirage & Maximal Grimlock (wow, that’s a mouthful!)

Wow, this is a cool set! The Mirage is a really good figure and a perfect update to the WFC Siege counterpart. It also gets rid of the clear plastic and Cybertronian letters, and adds an extra transformation step to allow for an earth style formula one. He seems very posable, a wonderful figure who will be a great pickup.

As for the Grimlock, I’m not a fan of the Beast Wars aesthetic in the slightest, so I’m really confused by how much I like this figure. It might be that crisp white (so long as they don’t use the soap-like nylon that they used for Apeface) or the incredible head, but I’m just in love with him.

The Dino mode is a lot nicer than the kingdom Dinobot’s alt mode because you don’t have the orange chest kibble, instead it all blends in (see below).

Overall this seems to be a fun and well rounded figure. This set is a pretty fair price at £54.99/$49.99 (CLICK HERE TO PRE-ORDER). A good pick-up and I’m looking forward to seeing what Hasbro do with the sub-line as a whole.

Beastify the battlefield! Worlds collide when the Maximals and Predacons join the fight, coming together with the Autobots and Decepticons in an epic battle that will alter their destiny forever.

The Battle Across Time Collection allows fans to experience the clash between G1 and Beast Wars, with G1-inspired figures to complete the Earth-mode vehicle collection and Beast Wars-inspired figures not featured in mainline.

With Dinobot, Starscream, and Waspinator in pursuit, Grimlock and Mirage must team up to keep the Decepticon-Predacon threat at bay!

The G1-inspired Autobot Mirage toy converts to Earth racecar mode in 20 steps. The Beast-Wars: Uprising-inspired Maximal Grimlock figure converts to raptor mode in 28 steps. Comes with 2 blaster accessories. Maximal Grimlock figure’s tail detaches from raptor mode to become 2 sword accessories.
