Breaking down the latest wave of Marvel Legends – What If…?, Loki and The Watcher

Hasbro are doing a great job bringing the stars of Marvel’s first wave of Disney+ shows to the figure market.

I previously took a look at their latest LEGO Minifigures, and now I’m excited to share my thoughts on their brand new Marvel Legends releases, including figures from Loki and the soon-to-be-released What If…? animated series.

And, in classic Marvel Legends style, each of the six figures in this release features parts that combine into The Watcher himself!

So, let’s see how the individual figures shape up, shall we?

Marvel Legends Series Marvel’s Sylvie

VERDICT: This is the companion piece to the Loki and Mobius figures. I don’t know what to say, I kind of feel nothing from her. She really needed a cheeky grin or enchantment effects. There is nothing necessarily bad about her but a lot of her budget seems to have been put towards the build-a-figure watcher piece included with her.

Laser focused and relentless, Sylvie is the TVA’s most formidable villain, who has vowed to burn the organization to the ground.

Marvel Legends Series T’Challa Star-Lord

VERDICT: This is awesome, something about the colour scheme really pops. The shooting is fantastic and the accessories, while a bit lacking, are fine. An all around good figure.

T’Challa grew up in space and became Star-Lord, now leading adventures throughout the galaxy.

Marvel Legends Series Heist Nebula

VERDICT: This figure is ok, she is well detailed and accurate, as far as I can tell, extra hands are a great addition, but I can’t help but feel that a lot of her budget was put towards the build a figure, a reoccurring theme with this wave.

In this universe, Nebula was never raised by Thanos. Tech savvy and brave, the intergalactic Femme Fatale, Nebula is an intergalactic opportunist in the galaxy’s underworld.

Marvel Legends Series Doctor Strange Supreme

VERDICT: This is incredible. The sculpting, texture work and painting is on point. Sure, the accessory is a bit lacking, but who cares when the figure is this fantastic?

Marvel Legends Series Marvel’s Captain Carter

VERDICT: This is my favourite of the new Marvel Legends reveals. The detail is on point, the articulation is stunning, and the accessories are really fitting. Truly an incredible figure.

With the Super Soldier program in peril, Peggy Carter bravely participates by becoming Captain Carter.

Marvel Legends Series Zombie Hunter Spidey

VERDICT: A lot of my thoughts on this figure are mostly shared with Doctor Strange. I love the fact that he also includes a alternate head, but happily would’ve traded it for some white bendy wire and/or a flight stand.

Zombie Hunter Spidey is in a ragtag group of survivors, fighting his way through a zombie-infested world.

Marvel Legends Series Zombie Captain America

This is exceptional. The sculpting, the articulation, it’s all so accurate. Hasbro really pulled out all of the stops with this one. If I had to pick up one of these it would be this one for shear uniqueness and originality.

Captain America’s team were the first responders to the zombie outbreak — and its first victims.
