Hot on the heels of the release of Book One today from Skybound Comet, the brand new young adult imprint of Skybound Entertainment, Book Two of Tillie Walden’s CLEMENTINE has been confirmed for a October 2023 release date.
We dropped a review for Book One earlier today, and as you can tell from the quotes below, we absolutely loved it!
“For those unfamiliar with Walden’s extensive multi Eisner award-winning back catalogue, including the likes of Spinning, On a Sunbeam and I Love This Part, this may be the perfect book to introduce yourself to the talented young cartoonist’s knack for strikingly detailed artwork and rich, emotional narrative.”
“A coming-of-age survival horror story is a fantastic idea, and watching Clem growing up in this harsh world having already experienced so much tragedy at a young age makes for a truly fascinating read.”
“A fantastic addition to the wider Walking Dead world, the long-awaited return of a fan-favourite character, and a supremely talented cartoonist at the absolute top of her game.”
In Clementine Book Two, Clementine and her new friends are rescued by an island community led by an enigmatic doctor called Miss Morro, but just as Clementine’s scars are finally beginning to heal, she discovers dark secrets that threaten to tear her new life apart. Can Miss Morro be trusted? What about the rest of the islanders? And just how far will Clementine go to protect the ones she loves?
“After the games ended, we thought Clementine’s story was over. And now she’s been through so much more after book one, but it is all really just the beginning,” said Walden. “Clementine has much further to go, more obstacles to face, and much more growing up to do. I couldn’t be more excited for this next part of her story. I feel like I’m climbing with her deeper into the depths of love, fear, and family. As usual there are few challenges that Clementine can’t face, but in facing them, what will she be like when she comes out the other side?”
Clementine Book Two (Diamond Code APR228664, ISBN 978-1-5343-2519-7) will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 and everywhere books are sold, along with digital platforms including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, comiXology, and Google Play on Tuesday, October 10, 2023.
