So, there’s been a lot about independence in the news of late and without dragging us into the turgid and swampy waters of political debate it did get me thinking about independent comics (which are a much more sensible topic of conversation).

Typically the comics I read come from the big American publishers. Mostly Marvel, a little DC, Image, Dark Horse and IDW (in roughly Descending order of volume) and I very rarely pick up independent or small press comics as a matter of habit unless something special crosses my eye.

So, what are YOUR recommendations for the best independent or small press comics on the shelves right now? I’m going to pick up a copy of Dungeon Fun when I can but any advice on expanding my horizons (and emptying my wallet) is more than welcome.
