I’ll place my cards on the table nice and early on with this one; I did not like this comic.

I did not like it at all. I thought I would, I really did not.

For starters, I found the story to be a convoluted mess of different ideas.  When Masse, the Living Galaxy, returns to menace known space, the one-time teen hero called Deuce persuades Earthgov to allow him to re-form the EGOs with an all-new roster. His wife Pixel wonders: “How do you plan to staff, train, and launch a hero team in one week?” The answer: using disguised clones of Deuce himself—created with the forbidden cloning process developed by his evil mother-in-law!

To break the story down and put it in its simplest format, imagine that only a single Avenger still remains alive (THAT’S A LOT OF DEATHS!). This solitary Avenger then decides to create a new team by cloning himself and fighting off old forgotten foes.

The entire story is narrated by Deuce’s child in a Saga-esque plotting device that never quite makes sense. All in all, there is a lot of emotion displayed in this comic, with characters crying all over the place; unfortunately, none of these emotions registered with me as a reader.

The art wasn’t any better I am afraid, with a lot of the frames looking unfinished. The characters looked reminiscent of 80’s glam rock superstars, each with their own blow-dried hairstyle and obscene amounts of eyeliner.

Rating: 1/5.
