First stills from Marvel’s THE DEFENDERS and details of Sigourney Weaver’s villain revealed!

Courtesy of EW.com, we have our first stills from Marvel’s upcoming Netflix-exclusive Defenders series, along with details about Sigourney Weaver’s villain character, simply called ‘Alexandra’ at this point.

Speaking to EW.com, showrunner Marco Ramirez said “Sigourney is the kind of person you can buy as the smartest person in the room, who you can also buy as a person holding a flamethrower. Her character is a very powerful force in New York City. She’s everything Sigourney is: sophisticated, intellectual, dangerous. I’m sorry. I can only say a bunch of adjectives right now.”

Featuring Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil), Krysyen Ritter (Jessica Jones), Mike Colter (Luke Cage) and Finn Jones (Danny Rand/Iron Fist) reprising the roles from their solo series, The Defenders will also see the return of Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, Scott Glenn as Stick, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeryn Hogarth, Rachael Taylor as Trish Walker and Élodie Yung as Elektra Natchios.
