ComixTribe “Vacation Horror” HAPPY HILL to debut at NYCC ahead of January Release

New York Comic Con is set to take place on the 7th – 10th of October 2021, and the team at ComixTribe will be there with advanced copies of their new “vacation horror thriller” HAPPY HILL, complete with a NYCC exclusive variant cover.

The new series is co-written by BCP favourite Rich Douek (Sea of Sorrows, Road of Bones) and Joe Mulvey (Wailing Blade), who also provides the artwork, and features colors by Chris Sotomayor and letters by Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou.

Here’s the official blurb:

Happy Hill is a posh resort in the Catskill Mountains of New York that promises that its guests will leave truly happy – the only problem being that many of them never leave at all. Wyatt Willows is obsessed with the place, and its connection to The Wudsman – a horned, masked figure that most people think is an urban legend, but who he knows is both real and deadly.

When a child goes missing on the grounds of Happy Hill, the investigation uncovers dark secrets hidden and an unstoppable supernatural menace aiming to make this vacation permanent!

Speaking about the series, Douek said “I’m so excited to be working with Joe again, and on Happy Hill. The best part of co-writing it with him is being able to bring both of our twisted imaginations to the party! I love what we’re creating here, and I’m sure you will too!”

Mulvey continued, adding “I CAN’T WAIT for everyone to check out (or check into) Happy Hill. This story has been trapped inside my head for the last few years and being able to finally bring it to life alongside such stellar talents as Rich Douek, Chris Sotomayor, Tyler James and Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou has been mind blowing. If a fun, supernatural horror adventure with a kick of comedy sounds up your alley, than Happy Hill #1 is the perfect getaway destination for you!”

The NYCC variant of HAPPY HILL #1 will be available at Artist Alley table L-4, and the first issue will hit comic shops and digital platforms in January 2022.  In the meantime, you can feast your eyes on some preview artwork below.
